ScarWork

Developed by Sharon Wheeler, ScarWork is a specialist gentle manual modality that works with scar tissue to improve appearance and tissue health post surgery

ScarWork focuses on treating the underlying fascia, dermis, and adhesions.

ScarWork stimulates the body’s healing process, improves circulation and mobility, eases tightness, reduces sensitivity, pain & numbness & improves neural connection. By softening scar tissue we can improve the texture & appearance of scars, support body integration and improve emotional wellbeing.

The visible scar we see is often the tip of the iceberg, and scar tissue can form in areas away from the scar itself, therefore we work in holistic way to release restrictions including compensating areas of the body.

Recommended Treatment Plans

How many sessions you need will depend on the current health of your scar, its wider impacts, what your goals are and how the healing process progresses.

A series of sessions ( 4-8) spaced 2-3 weeks apart is recommended  for optimal benefit.

After the fourth session we assess if further sessions are needed.
